SAFA is an association of humanitarian action and sustainable development, founded in 2019. Organization is independent of any political, economic, ethnic or religious group. SAFA aims to contribute to peace and the construction of a common environmental conscience. It promotes social development, sustainable agriculture, education and promotes values of solidarity and mutual aid. SAFA gives life to projects that promise to make a difference on society, in terms of education, environment or the fair trade movement.
EARTH:
This element is the mother of all humanity. For decades, it has been plagued by numerous environmental (soil-related) and climatic difficulties, which have led to food insecurity in several regions of the world, in Africa and in Cameroon. SAFA intends to promote sustainable agriculture so that it fulfils its social, ecological, economically viable and ethically sustainable function for our generation and future generations.
WATER:
Access to clean water in many parts of the world and in Cameroon remains a vital issue. One of the main challenges for humanity in the coming years will be the availability of water resources. SAFA supports hope by promising to help provide clean water for all.
EDUCATION:
Education is an essential link in the value chain of our association. "Every child that we educate is a man, a citizen that we win in the construction of a sustainable world". SAFA supports the schooling of children, environmental education in schools. In Cameroon, environmental education in schools is not a new practice. Already in 1995, the States General of Education recommended the introduction of environmental education in the formal education system.
PEACE:
The international scene is still tormented by socio-political crises, armed conflicts throughout the world and the globalisation of terrorism. These crises, which are antinomic to peace and the development of humanity, are generally capitalised in terms of destruction, victims and also numerous refugees and displaced persons. Yet no development can be achieved in the absence of lasting peace. That is why SAFA considers peace-building to be the foundation of sustainable development. The association encourages mutual aid, the promotion of cultural diversity and social dialogue.
TECHNOLOGY:
According to the UN World Report on Sustainable Development 2023, scientists see technology as an important factor that can help achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The technological accumulation of the last 3 decades has sometimes been accompanied by many perverse effects; SAFA on the other hand carries a techno optimistic vision; our association wants to promote science, technology, innovation for development and green growth.
SAFA have some ideas that conduct the way they handle things. Those ideas:
- Solidarity ;
- Organization ;
- Loyalty ;
- Engagement ;
- Integrity ;
- Leadership.
SAFA works through a network of workers. Our volunteers are members of the association; they work at the headquarters and in the field.
Apart from covid-19, our members, volunteers and volunteers are found all over the country and abroad, which is why we have adopted a teleworking approach thanks to the increasingly accessible digital tools.
