The present general conditions of use (hereinafter referred to as GCU) define the conditions under which the user is authorised to browse and use the site and its services.

1- Definitions

Service: Refers to all the functionalities offered by the site

Content: Refers to all the content (text; photo; hypertext link; scientific article or blogs…) put online on the site by the association.
Unless otherwise specified, any new function that improves or extends the functionalities of one or more existing services or any new service launched is subject to these general terms of use (GTU). Users acknowledge and accept that the services are provided “as is”.

2- Purpose of the site :
2.1- The purpose of the site is to present the global action of the SAFA association on its main missions of solidarity, humanitarian action and sustainable development.
2.2- The site presents the activities within the projects carried out by the association and/or its partners within the framework of projects, as well as news, events and communication actions related to the SAFA association.
2.3- The site also allows the constant publication of scientific articles and blogs by various writers.
2.4- Finally, the site allows the user to request financial support for its actions.

3- Acceptance of the Terms of Use
3.1- The purpose of these Terms of Use is to define the terms and conditions under which the association provides users with the possibility of browsing and using the site.
3.2- The present GTU are concluded for an indefinite period of time from their acceptance by the user, which is deemed to have been acquired through the use of the site or upon acceptance by click by the user.
3.3 – The user is informed that the GTU can be modified by the association at any time and in particular when it is necessary to adapt the site to a new technology, an improvement or to the evolution of the legislation in force. These modifications come into force as soon as they are posted on the site. The user is invited to consult the GTC regularly in order to take note of the latest modifications. The user is deemed to accept the latest online version of the general terms of use each time he/she connects to the site.

4- Use of the site
4.1- Before using the site, the user must ensure that he/she has the technical and computer means to browse and use the site and that his/her browser allows secure access to the site. The user must also ensure that the computer configuration of his equipment is in good working order and does not contain any computer virus.
4-2- Access to the site is free and does not require any prior registration or account creation.

5- Access to the site
5-1- The majority of the site’s content and services are bilingual and are offered in English and French. The documents and information distributed are intended for the general public without distinction.
5-2- Access to and use of the site is strictly personal. The user undertakes not to use the site and its contents for commercial, political or advertising purposes or for any form of commercial solicitation, in particular the sending of unsolicited electronic mail.
5-3- This site is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except in cases of force majeure caused by third parties and/or maintenance work and interventions necessary for the proper functioning of the site.
The SAFA association cannot be held responsible for any damage whatsoever resulting from the unavailability or closure of the site.

6- Management of the site
For the proper management of the site, the SAFA association may at any time:
Modify, revise, delete, validate or change all or part of the content on the site
The user acknowledges and accepts that no prejudice can be recognised following the deletion of a content by the site. In no event shall the site, the association, its managers or agents be liable for any damages including loss of profits or loss of data resulting from the use of the site or from the deletion of content by the site.

7- Obligations of users and contributors of scientific articles and/or blogs

7-1- Any contributor of an article can submit his project online by means of an email link or contact provided. The article must of course be in line with the association’s fields of intervention, i.e:
Peace promotion, humanitarian action, environment, sustainable development and TC technology or renewable energy.
The fact that an article has been submitted and/or published on the site does not place any obligation on the publication director or the association to pay or provide financial support.
The association will do its best to inform the contributor within a reasonable period of time if the draft article is not retained.
7-2- The contributor of the article undertakes to ensure that the information provided in the draft article is clear, fair, true and sincere and does not mislead either the association or the publication director.
The contributor acknowledges that he/she is solely responsible for the information provided in his/her article and for the photos that accompany it. The contributor agrees not to transmit to the association any content of which he/she is not the author or for which he/she does not own the publication rights.
In this respect, he/she undertakes to :
Respect the editorial line of the association as well as the charter
Respect the rights of third parties (copyright, private Vic brand, image rights or other personal or property rights…)
Not to disseminate personal data concerning a person
Not to usurp the identity of another person or use a false identity
Not to mislead or attempt to mislead the association by using the name of another person
This indicative and non-exhaustive list commits the contributor of an article to respect the spirit and purpose of the site and of the SAFA association
Under no circumstances is the site intended to put contributors of user articles in contact with potential recruiters or projects
7-3- In addition, each user must, in particular and without this list being exhaustive
Respect the rules and laws in force
Not to sell, copy, reproduce, rent, lend, distribute, transfer or sub-license all or part of the elements, information contained on the site and/or allow any third party to use or have access to the site for any purpose whatsoever or to decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, modify, display in user-readable form
attempt to discover any source code or use any software that enables or comprises any part of the site
Not to denigrate the site and/or the SAFA association, its managers and/or other users on social networks or any other means of communication.

8- Use of Project Contributors’ content

The Project contributor expressly authorises the SAFA Association to transmit the information that he/she has put online on the Site. The contributor grants the association a free, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide licence on the content he/she has integrated into his/her project, for the entire duration of intellectual, literary and artistic and/or industrial property rights, and in particular copyright as defined by Cameroonian and foreign legislation and international conventions (including all subsequent supplementary or modifying regulations), to reproduce, represent, use, copy, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works, integrate into other works, and distribute this User Content (in whole or in part).
This use is authorised for all purposes of internal or external communication, corporate or financial, publicity, as well as for all public relations purposes, and for historical or archival purposes, of the SAFA association, its products and/or its brands.

10- Intellectual property
10.1- The Site must be considered as a whole. By accessing this Site, Users expressly acknowledge that the Site and all of the Content it contains (such as brands, images, texts, videos, drawings, graphics, sig

11.1- The Foundation cannot be held liable in the event of a failure, breakdown, difficulty or interruption in operation, preventing access to the Site or to one of its functions.
11.2- The equipment used by the User to connect to the Site is under the User’s sole responsibility. The User must take all appropriate measures to protect his equipment and his own data, in particular from viral attacks via the Internet. The User is solely responsible for the sites and data he/she consults.
The Foundation may not be held liable in the event of legal proceedings against a User :

  • due to the use of the Site or any service accessible via the Internet;
  • as a result of the User’s failure to comply with these General Conditions of Use.

11.3- The Foundation is not liable for any damage caused to the User, to third parties and/or to his/her equipment as a result of his/her connection to or use of the Site and the User waives any action against the Foundation as a result.
11.4- If the association is the subject of amicable or legal proceedings as a result of the use of the Site by a User, it may take action against the User to obtain compensation for all damages, sums, sentences and costs that may arise from these proceedings.
11.5- The Foundation’s liability is limited to direct damage only. The Foundation cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible for indirect damage.
The association also declines all responsibility for any damage resulting from fraudulent intrusion by a third party, outside its control, leading to a modification or alteration of the information/Content appearing on the Site or having caused prejudice to any User of this Site; and more generally for any damage, whatever the causes, origins, nature or consequences, caused as a result of access by any person to the Site or the impossibility of accessing it.
11.6- The association cannot be held responsible for technical problems or failures related to telephone networks, online computer systems, servers, Internet providers, computer equipment and/or software of Users.

12- Links

12.1- The hypertext links established on the Site to other Internet sites or other Internet sources or content (the “External Sources”) do not engage the responsibility of the association.
12.2- Insofar as the Foundation cannot control these External Sources, the User acknowledges that the association cannot be held responsible for the availability of these External Sources, and cannot bear any responsibility for the content, advertising, products, services or any other material available on or from these External Sources. The existence of links to other sites does not constitute a validation of these sites or their content. It is the User’s responsibility to use this information with discernment and a critical mind.
12.3- The association cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible for hypertext links that may direct Users to the Site. Any use or implementation of such a hypertext link without its authorisation is prohibited and is likely to engage the responsibility of its author.
12.4- In addition, Users acknowledge that the Association shall not be held responsible for any damage or loss, whether proven or alleged, resulting from the use of or reliance on the content, goods or services available on the links of these external sites or Sources by Users.

13- Notification of any breach of these terms and conditions
13.1- SAFA will endeavour to ensure that the above principles are respected.

13.2- If the User witnesses a breach of the above commitments, please inform the association by email at the following address: contact@safa-ong.org. The association will act with respect to the anonymity of the User.

14- Security
14.1- The User undertakes not to undermine the security of the Site. To this end, he/she undertakes not to carry out any fraudulent access and/or maintenance in the organisation’s information system. The User may not damage or hinder the information system of the association. Should the User fail to do so, SAFA may take any measure against him/her, and in particular engage his/her criminal liability under the 2010 law on cybercrime and the following criminal code.
15- Applicable law and competent jurisdiction
15.1 – The present GCU are governed and interpreted in accordance with Cameroonian law, taking into account international conventions and laws on electronic communication.
15.2- In the event of a dispute arising from the interpretation and/or execution of the present GCU, the parties shall be bound by the laws of Cameroon.
